Adrift
Dr Gemma Regan
Float within your subconscious in a unique experience that you will not forget…
Amongst the multitude of events available as part of The Brisbane Festival, Adrift presented by Counterpilot is one that you MUST NOT MISS! Each show is limited to a small group and seats are filling fast so do not delay.
Counterpilot is an award-winning collective of interdisciplinary artists based in Brisbane who design their performances to subvert social circumstances by making the audience into participants. They are the Company-in-Residence at Metro Arts and their creatively designed installations enable participants to observe individual responses to hyper-real situations.
Adrift is directed by Nathan Sibthorpe, with creatives Christine Felmingham, Mike Willmett and Elizabeth Hun. It has won multiple Matilda awards including The Judges Award for its unique and innovative design.
The participatory theatre experience is described as part mystery and part game, but it is so much more, plunging you into facing your inner-most thoughts and fears in a cunningly designed 90 minute experience that you will not forget.
Audience members are solely directed through headphones to manoeuvre and manipulate your movements, props and even others, as stories unfold plunging you into examining the depths of the human psyche.
Dramatic lighting changes and cunningly designed equipment and tools guide you through a bizarre and fascinating experience which is both enjoyable and at times unnerving.
You will enter wary and cautious yet leave slightly changed, gratified for the personal insights Adrift delivers.
What happened remains a secret that can only be revealed by choosing to attend by signing up to be set Adrift.
