Enjoy the rich and expressive rhythms from our local and Australian bands who are passionate about Balkan music, alongside traditional Eastern European bands from the Balkans and Southeast Europe.
Balkan music is well known for its complex and layered sound, so tune in and be prepared for non-stop dancing! It's hard to stay still while listening to Balkan Beats!

Transylvanian Gypsy Kings at Woodford Folk Festival! TGK play the latest horas from Bucharest, traditional boys dances where they slap themselves, and hit pop songs from non- stop Romanian bars. Their style is very distinctive, with lots of black leather and macho jewellery from downtown Cluj Napoca/ Kolozsvár (capital of Transylvania). OPA!
