Never ones to musically stand still and following explorations of everything from prog-fringed thrash metal, primitive synth-rock, down-home jam-rock hoedowns and feelgood symphonic rock on recent albums, Alien Metal grew out of last year’s ‘rave shows’ where traditional instruments were abandoned as the band gathered around an expansive modular synthesiser setup each making their own manipulations to create a mind-altering whole. And what began as an experiment soon became an obsession, inspiring one of the band's most ambitious records to date.

Kevin Ayers (16 August 1944 – 18 February 2013) was an English singer-songwriter who was active in the English psychedelic music movement. Ayers was a founding member of the psychedelic band Soft Machine in the mid-1960s, often sharing the stage with Pink Floyd. 
He recorded a series of albums as a solo artist and over the years worked with Brian Eno, Syd Barrett, John Cale, Elton John, Robert Wyatt, Andy Summers, Mike Oldfield and Nico among others.

Rock princess Terra Rouge is a queer icon emerging from the underground scene in Melbourne. Blending pop-punk with a slick, modern sound, her music combines gritty guitar, punchy vocals, and lyrics laced with a sarcastic attitude.

Queensland based singer and guitarist. Big on the festival scene, having played Woodford Folk Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Gympie Muster, Adelaide Guitar Festival (where she served as a guitar tutor), Agnes Blues & Roots Festival, Mullumbimby Festival, Rock the Boat, West End Festival and more.

A deep connection to place remains central to the album's identity. Rather than recording elsewhere, Ivan chose to make the record on Arrernte Country, where many of the songs were written and where their emotional landscape felt most at home.
The album carries the influence of songwriters such as Mark Lanegan, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Sharon Van Etten, while remaining grounded in the desert country and the remote landscape on which it was written.

Roy Harper (born 12 June 1941)is an English folk rock singer, songwriter, poet and guitarist. He has released 22 studio albums (and 10 live ones) across a career that stretches back to 1966. 
Harper's influence has been acknowledged by Led Zeppelin, Pete Townshend, Kate Bush, Pink Floyd, and Ian Anderson, of Jethro Tull, who said Harper was his "primary influence as an acoustic guitarist and songwriter.”
