With storm season upon us, itʻs a good time to review flash flooding safety tips - whether at home or in the car.

Do you know how to protect yourself from hail or how to place sandbags? How do you manage an unexpected flood, what precautions can you take, where do you get sandbags and how do you place and fill them?

4ZZZʻs Eliot Rifkin had a discussion with State Emergency Services (SES) Director Brian Cox about safety precautions as well as year round SES free training.

   •   Queensland weather updates and current warnings:   The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has specific QLD weather information for your location. Go to your local council website for even more localised emergency management and awareness information.

   •   The Queensland State Emergency Service (QFES) site contains information on community safety

   •   Brisbane City Council has info on the State Emergency Services (SES) and where to get sandbags

   •   For current road conditions

   •   To join the SES - and both help out your community and get free training

In breaking news QPS have enforced a 3 hour evacuation notice to personnel involved in the Goori Camp Embassy at Barrambin Victoria Park. A large police and fire presence has been reported to be on site complete with UAV drones as they survey the area.
