A family that has been living in the central Queensland town of Biloela were removed by Australian Border Force officers at 5am last Friday morning and sent to a Melbourne detention centre. The family who have two daughters that were born in Australia were removed as they apparently did not meet the requirements for a protection visa. The town of Biloela has expressed their outrage about the removal of this family who has been a valuable member of the community with vigils and a petition being circulated calling on the government to release the family. 4ZZZ News reporter Jack McDonnell spoke with Ben Hillier a spokesperson from Tamil Refugee Council about this situation and what is next for the family.
